Ministry of Environment has signed an agreement with the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT) to design the coursework and standard for training programs specializing in water and sewerage. At a ceremony held today, the agreement was signed by Environment Minister Dr. Hussein Rasheed Hassan and Mr Adam Haleem, Director of Programs at MIT.
The Agreement would see the Environment Ministry facilitate MIT in developing level 3 and 4 certificate programs in plumbing, sewerage system operation and maintenance, water system operation and maintenance along with Water System Laboratory Technician training program.
According the Environment Ministry, the program will be developed in collaboration with the Technical and vocational Education Training Authority (TVET), accredited by the Maldives qualification authority. Under the agreement, the programs developed by the ministry will be opened up to the public for training.
