On the final day of the transfer window, Real Madrid finalized the signing of Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga for about 45 million euros.

The 18-year-old, who has previously made three appearances for the French national team, signed a six-year contract and becomes the club’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of defender David Alaba on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.

Camavinga’s arrival will bolster Madrid’s midfield after Martin Odegaard left for Arsenal and Toni Kroos was sidelined indefinitely with a groin injury.

In other deadline-day transactions, Barcelona agreed to transfer right-back Emerson Royal to Tottenham Hotspur less than a month after presenting him at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona sold Emerson after only 29 days and after featuring in all three of the club’s league games this season, playing 24 minutes against Real Sociedad, 13 minutes against Athletic Bilbao, and 63 minutes against Getafe last weekend, when he was in Ronald Koeman’s starting 11.

“Emerson has a release clause of 300 million euros, and we hope that he will be with Barca for many years,” stated Barca president Joan Laporta during his presentation.

laix Moriba, an 18-year-old midfielder, has also left Barcelona and joined RB Leipzig for 22 million euros after failing to agree on a new contract.

Brighton and Hove Albion also signed Marc Cucurella from Getafe for 18 million euros, while former Alaves striker Lucas Perez has joined Elche and Unai Lopez has joined Rayo Vallecano on loan from Athletic Bilbao.
