According to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the public should be fully consulted before any government initiatives or work is finished. As part of his three-nation tour, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the comments while speaking with residents of the Dhandhoo.
On his arrival at Dhandhoo, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was given a cordial welcome. The village’s young people, seniors, and kids all gave him a hearty welcome.
The President stated, “The government’s initiatives and works should be completed in conjunction with the people,” during his visit to Dhandhoo. In this context, he pointed out that even ongoing initiatives may only be changed with the consent of the populace.
The President stated that there is still a lot of work to be done and what needs to be addressed, pointing out that Dhandhoo is a fishing island. The President stated that Huvadhoo Atoll is the leader in Maldivian fishing. The president did, however, promise that the issues facing fisherman in the upcoming two to three months—including their inability to access funding and their difficulties fishing—would be rectified. “When this government took office, it tried to help the fisherman. But even now, they haven’t finished everything as quickly as their bosses would like. These problems will be rectified in two months. In the subsequent two to three months, the feelings of the fishermen will be addressed. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the president, stated.
MIFCO data shows that 43,900 tonnes of fish have been SOLD from Gaafu alif Atoll to Kooddoo so far this year.
The President heard the islanders’ worries during the meeting that was held to get to know the Dhandhoo inhabitants. A petition was sent to the president asking him to expedite the building of a bank branch, housing developments, and a boating area. Residents also complained to the President regarding convenient amenities and a lack of funding for fishermen to sell their catch.
The Dhandhoo residents thanked the administration for bringing development to the island during the gathering.
The President declared that he will endeavor to answer the people’s complaints after hearing their complaints. Planning Minister Mohamed Aslam, Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid, Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer, and executives from state-owned businesses will accompany the President.
