Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed agreements with Education Ministry and Islanders Education to develop five schools in Hulhumale’ Phase II; four public schools and an international school.
The agreements were signed Sunday. The agreement for the development of the four public schools was signed by HDC’s Managing Director Ahmed Athif and Education Ministry’s Senior Policy Director Moosa Naeem. According to HDC, the four public schools will be located in central Hulhumale’ Phase II, next to the Hiyaa projects.
Meanwhile, the agreement for the development of the international school, the British International School Maldives, was signed by HDC’s MD Athif and Islanders Education’s Chairman Abdul Rasheed. According to HDC, the school is accredited by the Council of British International Schools.
The school, developed by Islanders Education in partnership with Think Simple UK, is braced to be an innovative and ecofriendly school.
The Housing Development Corporation on Sunday signed agreements with two companies to build mosques in Hulhumale’ Phase 2.
Sunfront has agreed to building a 22,395 square feet mosque, which can accmodate over 2,000 people at once. This mosque is to be developed under an Islamic center concept, and will use solar energy to generate power. A special area will be build within the mosque dedicted for women.
The Veligaa Hardwar’s mosque is to be 15,457 square feet. The mosque will be able to accommodate 2,200 worshippers at a time, and would also use soloar energy to generate power. This mosque too, will have a special area build for women.
Speaking at the ceremony, HDC’s MD Athif noted the suppoer received by private companies in builging mosques.
